Forever my heartbeat story

Our Story – The story of Forever my Heartbeat™ is rooted in the loving bond shared between  child and parent. We endeavor to bring more love to the world through our products, toys, gifts, books, videos and stories. Our symbol of that love and its history is Forever My Heartbeat™.  Join us in our magical land where goodness, beauty, truth and love are everywhere. Heartbeats World™ – where Heartbeat™ the ladybug comes from. A magical utopia where parents, grandparents, friends and people of all cultures live. It is filled with colorful ladybugs, butterflies’, and impish fireflies. Where flowers bloom, rain is warm, and the oceans sparkle. A world where a magical, ancient tree grows, and children’s sweet dreams come true. 

Our History - August 2006, when I took my baby home and put him in his crib. As I looked down on this little face, I was terrified and overwhelmed. I can remember the stop of my breath, that moment when I knew that what had existed before no longer mattered. I knew that everything I was, everything I was intended to be was because of this little baby. He was in fact, my Heartbeat. That feeling, that thought, never ever left me. The name of the main character Heartbeat is based on this very personal moment in my life, a moment that most parents can relate to, and one I will never forget. 

Valentine’s Day 2008 was quickly approaching and I, like most mothers wanted my two-year-old child to be a part of Valentine’s Day. I went on a quest to look for the perfect gift to give my little boy. There was nothing. How could that be? Something was missing. This was supposed to be an occasion to celebrate love but the person I LOVED THE MOST was left out!

Leaving our local shopping center empty handed I saw small ladybug chocolates. I bought some, thinking I might be able to do something with them. By the time I got home I had decided to hide them around the house for my little boy to find when he woke up on Valentine’s Day. Sure enough, when he woke up, I told him that a Love Bug had paid him a visit during the night and left “sweet treats” for him to find. He was delighted, the search began, and so did the concept of  “Forever My Heartbeat”. This new tradition of hiding things on February 13th grew larger and larger each year. One year after the next it developed a new component. 

February 2010, the tradition of hiding chocolate ladybugs around the house had grown. Each year, my child had looked forward to the things the “ladybug” would leave on the eve of Valentine’s Day. The tradition now had grown to small notes of love and memories that were randomly left around the house. 

Moving ahead to February 13 and 14th 2014. Those two days were very strange days for me. There were so many serendipitous events that lead to the creation of this concept. I was inspired by a very dear friend who reminded me that “Some Wishes Do Come True”.  With this in mind I started to wonder where ladybugs really spent their winter. To my surprise, I learned that ladybugs often go into people’s homes. There, they spend the winter safely hidden in some doorway or windowsill. Once I learned this, the little story “Heartbeat Finds a Friend”, flowed quickly from my heart. 

The concept has grown and expanded significantly in the last 7 years. From a product intended for Valentine's day to a product concept that spans the entire year, and celebrates all occasions. The original book and little box kit with toy has turned into a series of books, a live action story time, 6 lines of toys. music, animation, clothing and giftware. It has been and continues to be, the adventure of a lifetime. 

Heartbeat has a magic that realizes the power of words on a child's heart. Words that will always whisper,
